A.I. & Speech: A Silent Anthropomorphism? While current speech assistants such as Alexa, Bixby, or Siri still feel far from fiction such as in Knight Rider, Iron Man, Her, or Ex Machina, Prof. mult. Dr. Björn W. Schuller revealed on 27 June 2019, how – largely unnoticed – “deep” neural networks already learnt to speak, and to show artificial emotional and social intelligence in their reaction in a dialogue, for example, to appear more charismatic or empathic.
